Modern Castaway Wedding
Emily and CJ hosted an amazing wedding and one hell of a dance party at Castaway Portland in Portland, Oregon. Their night ended with guests singing along to some Bay Area favorites and chugging from champagne bottles. But let’s back up a bit for now.
The day started by getting ready at the beautiful Duniway Hotel in downtown Portland. We got pretty lucky with a sunny day in February and took advantage of the hotel’s rooftop patio for photos and also strolled the streets of downtown Portland before heading to their venue.
Their ceremony was short and sweet. They were married by a family friend and their personal vows to each other were accompanied with a couple tears and a couple laughs as well.
We took advantage of all the great locations just outside of Castaway Portland for the family and bridal party photos. We also booked some shooting time at Pomarius Nursery for the couples portraits. I love that the nursery provides a beautiful green space that serves as a great contrast for the industrial feel of downtown Portland.
Guests lined up to grab some delicious tacos from Tight Tacos who had set up in the court yard before hitting the dance floor. The couples friend and DJ, Steb Montez, aka Dj BaddDJ, did a great job reading the crowd and had everyone singing along, forming conga lines and overall having an amazing time.
Emily And CJ also treated their guests to a gift raffle to show their gratitude. I thought it was a really great way to add a little excitement to thank you gifts and it let everyone get involved.
Overall it was a great pleasure to work with Emily and CJ, and all the vendors who made their day possible, which you can see a full list of at the bottom of this blog entry!
