Government Cove Engagement Session

We headed out to Government Cove in the Columbia River Gorge for Nick and Mary’s engagement session. I really loved shooting this engagement session at Government Cove because of the variety of backgrounds and textures and the great views it offers of the Willamette River. This great spot is also easily accessible from Portland since its only a 45 min drive away.

We kicked off their photos with a quick cheers! I find that sometimes a little liquid courage lets couple loosen up quickly, especially if its your first time in front of the camera for a couple’s session. Even if we hadn’t started with a drink, I think Nick and Mary would have done great because of their great chemistry. I really like to let couples enjoy themselves and try and let moments develop naturally. With a little help in the posing department from time to time. The couple kept each other laughing and were such a pleasure to photograph.
